TOURISM AND DISABILITY

TOURISM AND DISABILITY

The State Secretariat for Tourism is committed to raising awareness and mobilising tourism professionals to ensure the accessibility and integration of disabled people. To this end, the national "Tourisme et Handicap" label was created in 2001.

In a way, it is a response to the demands of disabled people, who want to be able to choose their holidays and leisure activities in complete freedom.

A site with the "Tourisme et Handicap" label must be able to guarantee complete autonomy for disabled people during their visit or stay.

FREE PARKING WITH THE CMI ON-STREET PARKING CARD

Free on-street parking in all spaces, not just reserved spaces

The measures contained in the law aimed at facilitating free on-street parking for people with disabilities or reduced mobility, published in the Official Journal on Thursday 19 March 2015, have come into force.

Disabled people or people with reduced mobility who are in possession of one of the two parking cards (Carte Mobilité et Inclusion mention Stationnement, known as the CMI S, or the European Parking Card), or those accompanying them, can use all parking spaces open to the public free of charge and for an unlimited period.

Please note that free parking applies to on-street spaces but not to gated car parks. In these areas, all vehicles are subject to payment.  Thus, holders of a parking card are required to pay a fee to park in car parks equipped with entry and exit barriers that are accessible to disabled people from their vehicle.

TOURISM QUALITY

TOURISM QUALITY

The Colmar and it’s region tourist office was awarded the QUALITE TOURISME™ Mark in November 2023 for a period of 5 years.

THE "QUALITY TOURISM" MARK IN A FEW WORDS

In order to provide you with an ever-improving welcome and improve the quality of tourist services in France, the French government has created the Qualité TourismeTM mark.

Quality of welcome and services, professionalism and the promotion of local resources are among the essential values of the mark.

Professionals who display the Qualité TourismeTM mark undertake to offer you :

- a personalised welcome

- clear and accurate information

- competent staff who are there to listen to you

- a comfortable and impeccably clean place to stay;

- local tourist information tailored to your needs.

To obtain the Qualité TourismeTM mark, the service provider must successfully follow a quality approach that complies with the National Quality Commitments, which represent the essential requirements for your satisfaction.

Professionals who have been awarded the Qualité TourismeTM mark listen to your needs by systematically analyzing satisfaction surveys and complaints. Their services are regularly subject to unannounced, independent checks.

These procedures enable professionals to continually improve their services to ensure your satisfaction.
