Do you want to discover the religious heritage of the parish church of Orbey?
You are invited to a guided tour of this building.

It is a parish church of an impressive size in the touristic village of Orbey, located in the welche country.

This neo-Gothic style building was built in the years 1850/1860. It is the 4th local church. The first church was erected in 1049, all three faced east (rising sun) and were smaller.
There are 3 vaulted naves. (59 meters long and 20 meters wide.  In the choir, restored after the two wars, there are stained glass windows by Master Bony, including a Risen Christ. 4 large mosaics (1933) adorn the walls of the sanctuary. A processional cross – from 12th / 13th century coming from the Pairis abbey is displayed in one of the naves.  The bell tower keeps the successive marks of the different constructions.

An adjoining chapel is lit by stained-glass windows explaining the life of Saint Edmond (king and martyr in 870).

The originality of the cemetery stuck to the church and hanging from the hill makes it a curiosity!  This is just a small glimpse of the richness of our church, come and visit it.
