Concert - Interzone
Twenty years ago, guitarist Serge Teyssot-Gay (Noir Désir) and oud player Khaled Aljaramani (Bab Assalam) embarked on this adventure of musical weaving and cultural fusion. Scholarly composition and improvisation, raw energy and erudite poetry, tradition and modernity blend together at the heart of music that breathes like a living being, between the West and the Middle East.
The album Cinquième Jour, Waslat (2024) explores the motif of the classical Arabic suite (wasla). The concert version is a true creation composed of original suites. In this dialogue oscillating between melodic patterns and songs, harmonic motifs and rhythmic trances, each musician highlights the other's instrument in a moving relationship of respect, support and equality.
