Exhibition: L'art fait renaître l'Espérance - St Joseph's Church

Add to my calendar 05-07-2025 17:45 02-09-2025 Europe/Paris Exhibition: L'art fait renaître l'Espérance - St Joseph's Church Opening on 5 July at 8pm in Saint Joseph's Church, followed by a presentation by Jean-Jacques Erny: Art and Hope in Saint Joseph's Church (Jean-Jacques Erny, renowned Alsatian sculptor and cabinetmaker).
‘L'Art fait renaître l'Espérance’ is an invitation to contemplate how art can express, nourish and revive hope. Through shapes, colours and materials, but above all through the inner eye of artist Claude Lamoureux. This exhibition seeks to open a door: that of the heart. In a world that is often disorientated, where hope seems fragile, art becomes a path. It does not deny reality, but reveals its hidden light. As Saint Paul wrote: ‘Hope does not disappoint’ (Romans 5:5). As Pope Francis has reminded us, the artist is a guide, a watchman, capable of restoring to humanity the horizon of hope, not as an illusion, but as a living force, rooted in faith. The works presented here do not seek to impose a truth. They offer a space for contemplation, an encounter with the Beautiful, the True and the Good - those reflections of God that art knows how to make vibrate. They bear witness to life, to recovery, to inner awakening.
For the artist, inhabited by a profound vocation, becomes a witness to a hope that cuts through the darkness. May this exhibition be for everyone a journey of emotion, reflection and faith. May it rekindle in us that flame that no wind can extinguish: Hope.
