Colmar International Festival - Grigory Sokolov: the art of performance
Piano : Grigory Sokolov
A Festival regular, Grigory Sokolov once again honours us with his presence this year.
This piano titan has chosen to compare two musical worlds that are ultimately closer than they might at first appear: the golden age of English music with some of the most personal pieces by William Byrd, a musician full of delicacy and emotion, characteristics that the young Brahms will find – with a completely different language, of course – in the four Ballades op. 10, which are so many tales in music.
