Exhibition: Fabienne Verdier's Song of the Stars

Add to my calendar 01-10-2022 09:00 27-03-2023 Europe/Paris Exhibition: Fabienne Verdier's Song of the Stars In the autumn of 2022, the Musée Unterlinden is devoting an exhibition to Fabienne Verdier in connection with its collections and architecture. Fabienne Verdier's works will be presented in the museum's permanent collections, in dialogue with the works of ancient and modern art from the old convent to the exhibition room in the new building (Ackerhof). In the Ackerhof, Fabienne Verdier has imagined a tailor-made installation, a plastic response to the wish of the architects Herzog & de Meuron to make this magisterial hall a place of contemplation and silence in the heart of the city of Colmar. On the scale of this space, she has created a series of paintings (Rainbows) and a monumental work (Vortex) linked to the Resurrection panel of the Issenheim Altarpiece. The artist proposes a new iconographic representation inspired by the chromatic spectrum and the aura of light painted by Grünewald. Through this ensemble, Fabienne Verdier tackles the subject of the representation of death no longer in its finitude, but as the trace of an energy that is transmitted to the living.
